The Haiti Youth Education Fund Empowers Haitian Students to Attend a University in Haiti
The goal of this fund is to expand education opportunities for youth in Bon-Repos, Haiti through a sponsorship program for selected students. Despite otherwise not being able to afford the tuition, HYEF enables Haitian high school students to continue their education at a university level.
With the help of HYEF, current student Medjine Charles was able to realize her dream of going to university:
"An impossible dream for me was realized. With a university education, doors will open up for me. I have the possibility for a better life. I will be able to work and help my family, help the Environment and help our Community. To quote Immanuel Kant, ‘Man cannot become man without education.’ Even if it’s not always easy, I apply three methods to succeed; determination, effort and sacrifice. These methods also caused the HYEF to be born. I would like to call out to all sponsors that Jou Nouvo is doing extraordinary work in the Bon Repos community. It is permitting students going to university to begin a brand new chapter in their life."

Student at Quisqueya University, Port au Prince, Haiti
What HYEF Offers
The Haiti Youth Education Fund offers the full financial support required for one student to complete four years of University education at a top school in Haiti. This includes paying for the complete tuition of the student, as well as providing the necessary books and laptop computer for the student to succeed and excel in a university environment. HYEF is an affiliation of the Jou Nouvo organization which works closely with the community in Bon Repos, Haiti. For more information on Jou Nouvo please visit the Jou Nouvo website below:
Why It's Important
University level educational opportunities are extremely limited in Haiti. Most universities are expensive private universities, and the one public university in Haiti is extremely selective based on test scores. As a result, access to higher level education is extremely difficult.
How You Can Help
Your donation not only helps to make the aspirations of determined, inspired students a reality, but also supports Haiti’s next growing generation of educators, entrepreneurs, diplomats, and medical practitioners. All $30 of your angel purchase will go towards fulfilling the complete, 4 year tuition of one aspiring university student. Any contribution is a welcome addition to realizing one more student’s dream of a university education.

Bile Richardson LOTIN
Industrial Engineering (1st Year), Quisqueya University, Port au Prince, Haiti
“I am 19 years old and live in Merger Sibert with my parents and my younger sister. I was admitted to Quisqueya University and am excited to begin studying industrial engineering. An industrial engineer is a key player for his company given an aptitude for their development and versatility across many fields of expertise. With my education, I look forward to the possibility to even create companies.”
Marie Dunie FLEURISTIN
Student in Agriculture studies at Episcopal University, Port au Prince Haiti
“I am, 23 years old, fatherless since 2011 and motherless five years later. Youngest in my family, I am the only one with the opportunity of going to university. That's what I always wanted. I always dreamed of being an agronomist and achieving something valuable for Haitian society, because I want to help my country move forward economically as well as in agriculture.
Chanceline Naomie Lamusique
Business and entrepreneur studies at Faculty CRAAN, Port au Prince, Haiti
"The eldest of a single-parent family of 7 children, I am the first in my family to finish classical high school studies and be ready for university. As a future student in business management, I chose this discipline because I want to evolve in the business world by creating a company serving the Haitian community, while creating and offering jobs to others. This is my dream and I'm delighted to be closer to realizing it with this Haiti Youth Education Fund scholarship.”
